New Partnership Promotes Hunting in South Dakota

Staff reports

South Dakota became the newest state chapter to join the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Hunting Works for America program.

Hunting Works For South Dakota launched Oct. 17 with a press conference in Sioux Falls hosted by the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The organization is a partnership between sportsmen, retailers, business leaders and local tourism agencies.

The organization will also advocate for public policy that supports jobs and economic prosperity. As a grassroots organization, it will help tell the story of the role hunting and shooting sports play in both the heritage and economic health of the state.

Hunting Works For America launched in 2010 with just three state chapters in Arizona, Minnesota and North Dakota. Today, the program includes 17 states and now represents more than 2,800 businesses, organizations and associations.
